Department of Social Pedagogy and pedagogical skills

Training of social pedagogues in Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University was launched in 1996 at the Faculty of Philology (specialty "Ukrainian language and literature and social pedagogy"). In August 2001, the Department of pedagogical skills and social pedagogy was created, headed by Professor Natalya Seiko. From 1 November 2003 the department was headed by Svitlana Kolyadenko (Ph. D.). In the same year, the Department joined the newly established Socio- Psychological Faculty.

Currently the Department has 15 teachers, including 2 doctors of pedagogical sciences, 9 teachers have Ph. D. in Pedagogy, and all of them provide teaching more than 50 subjects. Staff: Doctor of Education, Professor Svitlana V. Lisova, Doctor of Education, Professor Natalya A. Seiko, associate professors: Svitlana M. Kolyadenko (Ph. D.), Olga V. Illina (Ph. D.), Lyudmila V. Korinna (Ph. D.), Inna V. Lityaga (Ph. D.), Nadija P. Pavlik (Ph. D.), Svitlana M. Sytnyakivska (Ph. D.), Zoya V. Zalibovska-Ilnitska (Ph. D.), Olena L. Ostapchuk (Ph. D.), senior lecturer Sergey Kotloviy (Ph. D.), assistants: Sergiy A. Tovschyk, Inna M. Palko, Natalia L. Tarasenko, Victoria I. Bezsmertna. Department initiates researches and different teaching activities, including workshops "Graduates – to students" to demonstrate the best practices in the sphere of socio-educational work (2012), I and II All-Ukrainian distance competition of students' scientific works in social pedagogy (2013, 2014).

In order to optimize the process of training social workers, NA Seiko and SM Kolyadenko developed educational-methodical provision specialties, including a workbook for the course Social pedagogy, social pedagogy dictionary, guidelines for the course "Methods of social pedagogue". In order to optimize the process of training future social pedagogues, N. Seiko and S. Kolyadenko developed methodical materials, including a workbook for the subject “Social Pedagogy”, social pedagogy dictionary, guidelines for the subject " The methodology of the social pedagogue activity".
